While working out can have many advantages there are also risks that come with it. Hypertension can be a serious problem when working out because it can lead to cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest is a very real threat that kills 350,000 people per year and it can happen during workouts so if you know that you are at risk then you should be very careful and take the required precautions. Certain drugs can also cause this spiked blood pressure so, if possible, avoid drugs that you know could negatively affect your safety while working out. Performing basic warmups and stretches at the beginning of a workout can reduce the risk of strain or injury that could have easily been avoided.
